MSc Project CasamanceIntroductionIn September 2006, five Civil Engineering students with different water specialisations from Delft University of Technology will set out on a multi-disciplinary development project in the Casamance region, Senegal. In collaboration with IDEE Casamance we will do research on the Casamance river and its ecosystem. Our objective is to improve agriculture and fishery concerning the river in a sustainable way for both the people and the ecosystem. A more detailed description of the problem and our project plan can be found under "Project". The website is available in Dutch and French as well, just navigate to NL or FR in the top right corner. Many posts and travel reports are only available in Dutch.
It all comes to an end. The final report is finished and will be presented the 5th of December in room 3.98 at the Civil Engineering Building. You're all welcome to attend the presentation and drinks afterwards. For those without time or possiblity to travel to Delft; you can download the report here
After two months in Ziguinchor, this project about hypersalinity in the Casamance is almost finished. Yesterday was the presentation in French and tomorrow we will depart for a short trip through the east of Senegal.
